Local Churches

There are lots of great churches in Oxford. Below you'll find a bit of information about some churches and a link to their website if they have one. If you're interested in attending a church but aren't sure where to go, or want to go with someone please get in touch.

St Ebbe's
Meeting at 9.45am, 11.45am & 7pm in the city centre, and 10.30am & 7.30pm in Headington

St Ebbe’s is a large and friendly evangelical church. They meet in two locations, one in the centre of Oxford on the corner of St Ebbe's street and one in Headington on Lime Walk. "We welcome those who want to investigate Christianity and those who want to know how to keep on following Jesus."

Many students go to the 11.45am service in the centre or the 7.30pm in Headington. Students are encouraged to come along to Focus or iFocus which involve a meal, a talk and time to study the Bible together.

St Aldate's
Meeting at 10.30am, 6pm and 8.15pm

A vibrant Anglican church in the centre of Oxford. St Aldates church is easy to find, on St Aldates Street opposite Christ Church College. "In everything we do, we place a high emphasis on making friends, Bible reading, worship and prayer."

Students are a big part of St Aldates Church life, and there are many things to be involved in. Particularly, Student Night on thursdays at 7pm and weekly cell groups.

Oxford Community Church
Meeting at 10.30am

Oxford Community Church is a part of the Salt and Light movement. The church can be found at The King's Centre in Osney Mead, around 20 mins walk from town and near the train station.

Student workers Russ and Josie describe OCC as "A home with a caring family, freedom in worship, inspiring and challenging Bible teaching, a missional focus and, perhaps most  significant, Fusion groups of students who have become close friends and spiritual brothers and sisters as we’ve gone through ups and downs together."

Emmanuel
Meeting at 10.30am

Emmanuel is a part of the NewFrontiers church movement. It meets in Magdalen College School in Cowley Place, which is around 15 minutes walk from town. "We meet each Sunday to worship God, receive teaching from the Bible and experience God’s presence. Our meeting is informal and welcoming and always offers opportunities for friendship and prayer."

Oxygen is Emmanuel's student and 20s programme, which meets every other Sunday evening to enjoy worship, prayer, preaching, socialising and games.

St Andrew's Church
Meeting at 9.30am, 11.15am and 6pm

St Andrew's is a member of the Evangelical Alliance. It meets in North Oxford, on Linton Road off Banbury Road. St Andrew's church aims to be "Growing Christians, Resourcing Mission".
