The story continues on the summer project to the East Asia…
“My friends and I are just over half way through our trip here so I thought I'd send you a wee update so you can be thinking of us. We have seen God do amazing things and my expectations are rising as we repeatedly see him responding to our requests. We have seen some beautiful places, eaten some delicious (and "interesting") food and met some great people.
One sister heard about our visit the day after we arrived and asked if we would help her throw 2 parties for students in her English class. The first one had about 40 people who had so much fun we literally had to push out of the door so we didn't keep the neighbours up! The second was a little more sedate. One sister sung 'Amazing Grace' and I was able to explain the story behind the song to one girl. She was very moved by the story and I hope to have opportunity to share the full story of Jesus with her this week. I think this is what she is looking for and is ready. Please pray to God for her so he can prepare her.
We're nearing the final stretch of our time here. Tomorrow is another tour day in which we'll get to visit some places to help us better understand the culture and people. We have until Friday as our final few days to be meeting with friends we've made here. I have four friends I want to meet with most (including the girl mentioned above) and I've bought them Bibles. They are all aware of where they currently stand with God and they want to move on. Some I think are ready for big steps, others I think have smaller steps to take first. We need wisdom on this. We also need to make plans to introduce them to other believers here so they will have friends to meet with when we leave.”
