The Agapé team in Edinburgh is helping to build a movement of multiplying
discipleship amongst university students. And resources are also available for
connecting other communities in Scotland with the message of the gospel.
Once a nation committed to the bold proclamation of the gospel our vision is to see the lost prodigal sons and daughters of Scotland return to their loving Heavenly Father and once again take up the call to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth. Our passion is to see Scotland transformed by turning lost Scottish students into a movement of sacrificial Christ-centred labourers. We long to see every student have multiple opportunities to hear about Christ and through them to see a new generation of passionate Christ-centred labourers raised up from Edinburgh to take Christ to the other campuses of Scotland and the world.
We work primarily at Edinburgh University with a plan to expand to the campuses of Napier, Herriot-Watt and Queen Margaret. Our desire is to see Scottish graduates raised up to continue the work in Edinburgh while launching new teams to Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, and St. Andrews in the next five years.
We want to give every university student the opportunity to hear
about Christ and passionately model lives committed to the Great
Commission. The leaders of tomorrow may not yet know Christ so we
must boldly share Christ by building student-led communities that
proclaim Christ and by engaging the whole Campus with the good news
of Jesus. In turn we will urgently call all Christians to sacrificially
make disciples like Jesus: boldly winning people to Christ, building
deeply into their lives, and urgently sending them out to make disciples
and change the world for Christ.
Locally we are
a Canadian Short Term International Team (www.campusforchrist.org)
planted in Edinburgh to begin this process. We are seeking to engage
the campus and raise up students to proclaim Christ on campus and
become life-long movement builders. We are building small group
communities with believers and non-believers to share Christ and
train leaders who can take the initiative to live Great Commission
lives.
We are currently
looking for passionate pioneering British-born believers to help
us reach Scotland. Whether you are a student or someone interested
in working full-time with Agapé we invite you to join us in Scotland.
How can we address the gap between church culture and
the world ‘out there’? Agapé has recently
produced a new resource which aims to help do just that.
Mind the Gap is a set of DVD-based workshops to help church
leaders and their congregations think through their approach
to evangelism among the unchurched. It’s
not a personal evangelism course, nor a blueprint
on how
to do it. Rather,
Mind the Gap contains lots of tried and tested
ideas on how to build in good practice and some
creativity,
whilst
gaining the enthusiastic involvement of church
members. Find

The JESUS Video Project is a very effective and manageable
strategy for offering the story of Jesus to every
home, with an opportunity for face-to-face contact
with a
member of the church. The project involves churches
personally
offering a video about Jesus free to homes in their
area in a systematic way and following up on the
interest generated. Churches around the UK and the
world have
used this innovative
strategy to work toward reaching their communities
for
Christ. Find

your community access

The vision of Agapé’s FamilyLife ministry
is to give every person in the UK the opportunity to transform
family relationships based on biblical principles and knowing
Christ. By providing training, innovative programmes and
resources, we help churches effectively explain the gospel
and minister to un-churched families in their communities.
FamilyLife Conferences allow couples, in any stage of life,
whether they are doing well or having trouble, to think
through topics like God’s purposes for marriage,
communication, resolving conflict and walking in the Spirit. Find

and upcoming ‘Weekend
to Remember’ Conferences
Sometimes
it feels like no one understands the schools worker.
Giving teenagers a chance to hear the gospel can
be really tough. Lots of schools workers feel they
have little or no support.
Although Agapé does not have full-time staff
working at schools in this region at this time, there
is still
a way to get connected. Find
