Are you minding the Gap?

It's official! Mind the Gap really has been used by God to effect change in attitudes and thinking in local churches round the UK.

Earlier this year, Agapé's Community Initiatives team got their ear to the ground to find out what those who had bought and used Mind the Gap thought of it. 30 phone conversations later, the team heard that Mind the Gap has envisioned leadership teams, empowered church members to help shape the vision, grown confidence in all who took part and increased effectiveness at inviting not-yet Christians to events.

"It's so easy to get embroiled in all manner of things in church life that are secondary, but this seems to focus on the priorities." David Hill

"We have now got a framework - a thread of evangelism running through the fabric of church life." The Revd Peter Tizzard, Christ Church, Ramsgate

"Mind the Gap helped me identify three or four of the people I come into regular contact with that I could pray for, and invite to things. It changed the way I saw my community." Joyce

So it really does 'do what it says on the tin'… except, it didn't say it clearly on the tin. Is that because there's nothing like Mind the Gap on the market? It is not an evangelism training course, nor an evangelistic course. How can we ensure that more churches hear about this product and decide to use it?

There have been three developments. Firstly, there's a new strap-line: 'Mind the Gap - working together to shape an effective evangelism plan'.

Secondly, The Good Book Company is so positive about Mind the Gap that they have been designing and printing the Members' workbooks. Previously, each church had to print off members' notes from a CD in the pack. Now each Mind the Gap Full Pack will include 5 copies of the Member's workbook. The Good Book Company will also be selling Mind the Gap on their stand at Christian Resources Exhibition this month.

Thirdly, three organisations - Christianity Explored, CPAS and Innovista - are delighted to partner with Agapé to advertise the four evangelistic resources: 'Mind the Gap', 'Christianity Explored', 'Growing Leaders' and 'Glad You Asked'. This combined leaflet will be going to several thousand Christian leaders over the next few months encouraging them to consider these specific products.
