Global Projects: Package Information

1. Transportation

Your Global Project will involve travel to and within the city (and surrounding area) that you are applying to. You will travel together as a group with the rest of your team by air from the UK to the country you have applied to go to. Within country, your transportation costs are covered as a part of your Global Project package. This will include airport transfers either by minibus or taxi, and passes to the city public transportation system (bus, train and metro). Other transportation may include bus, coach, train or taxi travel to local places to take part in Global Project activities.

Flights, and flights only, are financially protected by the ATOL scheme through our agreement with Key Travel Ltd. (ATOL number 3329). When you pay you will be supplied with an ATOL Certificate. Please ask for it and check to ensure that your flight is listed on it. 2. Accommodation

Accommodation whilst on Global Project will be either privately rented flats or public hostels of a reasonably similar standard to a UK youth hostel. The accommodation will be at a minimum standard of a two star hotel. When staying in hostels, the team will always be housed in private rooms. Whether in a hostel or a private flat, private rooms are only shared between members of the team who are of the same gender.

Your accommodations will always provide private rooms for the group, washing facilities, bedding and a meeting space.

If your Global Project Briefing is being held in Birmingham you will stay in a Travelodge, the cost of which will be included in your Global Project package.

3. Meals/Food

Whilst on Global Project, you will receive per diem cash allowances for your meals, set at a level deemed reasonable for the local area, by people living permanently in that location. Per diem is issued every few days by Global Project leaders and you will therefore have autonomy and responsibility for how you use your cash when purchasing meals.

5. Passport requirements and potential health risks

a) Global Projects to the European Union

Even after Brexit, UK citizens will not be required to obtain visas for short-term trips to European Union member-countries.

b) Global Projects to the Russian Federation

UK citizens require a visa to enter the Russian Federation. New Life Ministries (Agapé in Russia) will issue you the relevant invitation documents to apply for a Religious Purposes Visa for the Russian Federation. You will be required to complete an online visa application form, which must be presented at the Russian Visa Processing Centre in London where biometric (fingerprint) data will also be collected as a part of your visa application.

The costs of procuring your visa are included in your Global Project package, however it does not include the cost of your travel to and from London for your biometric appointment. Once in Russia you will be required to register your visa with the government, however this process will be organised for you on arrival.

The only health formality for travel to Russia is to avoid the consumption of tap water. It is recommended to only drink bottled water purchased from reputable persons/places.

6. Costs and payments

Upon review and acceptance of your application to the Global Project, we immediately require a deposit of £150 as indication of your intention to accept your place.

We then require you to have raised at least £600 (including your deposit) towards your total amount by the first Friday in April.

We require you to have raised the full amount of your Global Project by the date that is two weeks before the advertised departure date.

Failure to meet these deadlines will result in a review of your fundraising progress and may end with your place on the Global Project being withdrawn.

7. Minimum numbers

There is no minimum number of participants required for our Global Projects. As you will be travelling as part of a team along with Agapé UK staff the group will be viable regardless of numbers of outside purchasers of the Global Project package.

8. Travel delays

Any delays will be handled by your Global Project leaders in conjunction with the staff responsible for the Global Project both in the UK and in your host country. You will have full travel insurance cover as a part of your package which will be claimed upon in the event of any delays. Under the ATOL regulations we will be assisted with any flight issues by Key Travel, through whom our travel itinerary will be booked. Accommodation and further per diem will be provided where required in the event of delays.

10. Security and liability of Agapé UK

Agapé UK is covered by International Passenger Protection Insurance. This insurance covers the traveller in the case that Agapé UK becomes insolvent before or during a Global Project.

In accordance with The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992 all passengers booking with Agape Ministries Ltd. are fully protected for the initial deposit and subsequent balance of all monies paid to us, including repatriation if required, arising from cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of Agape Ministries Ltd.

There is no requirement for Financial Protection of day trips, and none is provided. This insurance is only valid for packages booked that do not include flights.

Consumer aware: Your booking is insured by International Passenger Protection Limited (IPP Ltd.) and its panel of insurers. This insurance is only valid for passengers who book and pay directly with/to Agape Ministries Ltd. If you have booked and/ or paid direct to a Travel Agent for a holiday with Agape Ministries Ltd. please request proof of how the booking is secured as this will not be covered by IPP Ltd. in this instance.

We, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, will provide you with the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier are able to do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer where applicable).

All our travellers will also be covered by travel insurance arranged by us; this will include cover for the cost of the flights.

11. COVID-19-related terms and conditions

a) Cancellation and delays caused by COVID-19

Agapé UK’s insurance policy (like many others) specifically excludes pay outs for cancellations and delays caused by COVID-19. This means if you are to test positive for COVID-19, or are prevented from travelling due to other COVID-19-related problems, we will not be able to issue you a refund for any costs already incurred.

If the decision is taken by Agapé UK to cancel the Global Project for COVID-19-related reasons, we will not be able to issue you with a refund for any costs already incurred.

It remains the case that if Agapé UK needs to cancel the Global Project for any other reason, excluding a reason related to COVID-19, a full refund will be issued.

b) COVID-19 vaccination policy

As it is a legal entry requirement for many of the countries that we visit, Agapé UK requires every participant in our Global Projects to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This includes receiving the third booster vaccination as legally available for your age group.
