He is with you

Day 9

One day Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Take these people up to the Promised Land.’ But you haven’t told me whom you will send with me. You have told me, ‘I know you by name, and I look favourably on you.’ 13 If it is true that you look favourably on me, let me know your ways so I may understand you more fully and continue to enjoy your favour. And remember that this nation is your very own people.” 14 The Lord replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.” 15 Then Moses said, “If you don’t personally go with us, don’t make us leave this place. The West’s emphasis on individuality has left many of us isolated, going it alone, which is something God never intended. Moses was navigating a massive change in his own life and leading others in change. He had reached a point of frustration with a people who vacillated between faithfulness to God and wanting to return to Egypt and the ways of Egypt. He knew that to bear the burden of leading a fickle people was beyond him. He desperately needed to know that he was not alone but that God was with him.

As you navigate change in your life, do you have the assurance that God is with you in it?  Do you choose to seek the Lord and his presence?

Psalms 34:4  I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.   5  Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. 6  This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. ESV
